Lone baby saved from family of recklessly released rabbits by mother daughter duo who gave it a life of love and luxury:‘Finally, when doing my normal hand down and allow sniff before lightly petting, he nudged my hand.’

It is not often that we are lucky enough to hop past a story of a rabbit rescue, but today we have been blessed by the animal story overlords with a fluffy tail of a lone bunny who managed to find a furever home after his whole family was recklessly released into the wild by their ex-pawrents.

Rabbits really are not the first animal you would expect to hear about when rescues come to mind, nad that is legitimate. Many rabbits live a completely feral life and are a vital part of the ecosystems they live in, so it would not be the most obvious thing to realize that a bunny might actually be someone's abandoned pet, but the hoomans who rescued this one bunny somehow knew it from the get go. They saw something in his character, in his curiosity that told them he was warm to hoomans and might actually trust them with some time.

But as with many rescues things simply could not go smoothly from the offset. There had to be a challenge or two to overcome first and the first challenge our rescuers conquered was that of cornering the bunny when it finally came back to their yard to get more food from them. A task which we can assure you is no walk in the park, if anything it is more akin to a frantic sprint while you dart from side to side trying to enclose one of the quickest and craftiest critters on the planet. Luckily our bunny boy was cornered quickly enough and soon began getting used to his luxurious new life amongst his hoomans.

  • Goodness we can imagine that must have been quite the harrowing experience for the poor baby bunny. To go from being completely free, to suddenly penned in, to being picked up and put in a dog crate. It is like being in a corridor that continues to get narrower, scary stuff. But at least he is now in the hands of people who can and want to care for him. It might be scary at first but soon he will learn he can trust them and let them take care of him.

  • Ah, you know, the universe works so wonderfully sometimes. Just look at this genius piece of work here. The universe knew exactly who to send this bunny to, knowing not only that they would pay attention to and take pity on the bunny, but that they would also have the resources to hand to help care for the bunny from the get go. Now that is what we call some premium planning right there. It just goes to show that what you put into the universe, you truly get back out of it.
